The modern messenger bag presents an option to a backpack “slung” a over a shoulder. We build the Carrier Brief in three versions, each offers functional styling combined with waxed canvas, premium leather, and solid brass hardware, all are crafted by hand at Frost River in Duluth, Minnesota. The Premium Carrier offers a padded sleeve, leather shoulder pad, a snap closure, and extra leather on the main flap. The Carrier Messenger has a large zippered slip pocket and is a great starting price point. The Carrier Bike Messenger Bag has a waistbelt to stay where it belongs during bicycle travel. Consider a Vintage Messenger for extra style points. All are simple, reliable, and a little hip (cause that's where you wear them)... there's a Frost River Carrier Brief Messenger Bag to help keep you moving forward no matter how you choose to travel. The Heritage Black Premium Carrier Brief is a modern messenger bag of premium materials that presents a more professional option than a backpack. The wide shoulder strap with leather pad evens out the weight of a full load of work gear. There’s plenty of length in the strap to wear the bag across a body. Twin flap straps attach to specially antiqued solid brass roller buckles to offer security of contents. Crafted in the USA at Frost River in Duluth, Minnesota, we’re making work bags to help keep you and your career moving in the right direction! Frost River Canvas My State Buckskin Patch Info Below.

Awesome bag! It’s not too big, but it still fits everything I need. I went with the premium option since for the extra padding and the snap rather than zipper. I feel confident my tech is safe and I don’t need to deal with a zipper. My only wish would be a more padding for my shoulder, but I only feel that way when I’m walking a lot.

I only got this bag a week ago but feel as if I’ve had it all my life! It fits my 15-in laptop with ease and with lots of space for extra books and binders! I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a high quality bag!

Awesome bag fit nicely my MacBook Pro 13 (perfect size even with a felt case) materials are durable and the hardware is super robust. Only thing I would like to see added is a point to secure a keyring to one of the little internal pockets. anyway I'm super happy with the purchase :)

    Carrier Brief Messenger Bag

This has replaced my old 5:11 bag. I wanted a little more room. This bag has a lot of room inside. Love the waxed canvas. My coworkers use to call my old bag a murse. A couple of them have made commits on the bag and have been looking into getting one. I've only used for a few weeks but its worth the money. Shipping was fast.

I just love the look and feel. It's like going back in time when quality was essential and you may only buy one bag. This one is a lifer for me.

I was impress with this level of quality and beauty. I am so happy with this company that I am planning to buy three more , one for each of my adult children. This is the first time in my life that I have a bag (10) in design, (10) in materials, (10) in fabrication. I spent more than 20 years looking for a bag with a classic design, elegant, secure, strong and made for a man. I also wanted enough capacity to carry my computer, papers, cables, pens and my umbrella. I showed the bag to my professional friends where I work (clinicians, medical doctors and social workers) and they were also very impressed with this practical beauty. This company surpassed every other rival by maintaining the beauty and practicality of a timeless basic design and industrial strength quality. Congratulations !!!!!

I sold my Vintage Messenger Bag to a happy friend. It was a great bag, but I wanted something a smidge more compact. I came across the Premium Messenger at a shop in Japan, and after about twenty minutes inspection, stuffing my essentials into it, trying it out, I decide to go ahead and fork over my left foot to have it. It’s so beautifully made. The canvas, the careful dead-center riveting and evenly strong stitching are perfect on this one. To boot, I found a bag with the logo appliqué as I’ve seen it in marketing pictures—the reindeer carefully burned with the dimensional foreground/background contrast— all crisp and lovely. Really happy about that “plus” in this bag. The leather, the brass, the canvas are all rocking hard together. This bag is the perfect craft jam, and I’m very pleased to have it. Although the Vintage Messenger has its own beauty, and a larger capacity, this Premium Messenger hits all the right notes that that bag had, and for me, makes a more compact carry (less floppy). I also dig that this bag is zipper free. Don’t get me wrong, Frost River zippers are as strong and reliable as they come, but in a Messenger bag, I prefer the older closures of snaps and buckled straps. Thanks to the caretakers at Frost River for the awesomeness... and for distributing to Japan!

    Enjoying this bag

Took a while to get this bag since they had to manufacture it. That is understandable and the quality is amazing. I have gotten many compliments. It’s very well built and looks great. I was worried about the size but I can fit all my school supplies and a 1000l water bottle. Would buy again.

    Premium Carrier Brief Messenger Bag

I've had this bag for a little over a year now and it's holding up pretty well. It came in fairly dark waxy but that was expected from a waxed canvas bag, however the color does lighten up with wear and looks quite nice. The leather is top notch and has a nice luster when polished (; I will say that the leather shoulder pad did cause some discomfort when new but after a week of breaking in it's really comfortable and helps distribute the weight of the bag. As far as construction, I don't have any real complains..although there does seem to be a hole emerging from where the canvas strap is attached to the side of the bag (; I'm not sure if this is due to the quality of construction or just regular wear and tear since I don't really beat this bag up or use up it's full capacity too much to expect something like this--I just use for school and don't carry any textbooks. I do wish this bag had a slip/exterior pocket on the back to access stuff a bit easier but I can't fault that on Frost River, it's just something I wish I had known I wanted when I purchased this bag. Overall this bag is a great value for the price and love how it's aging and holding up (with exception to that small hole emerging). I'd definitely recommend this to someone looking for a waxed canvas bag.
