Duluth Pop-Down at Askov Finlayson

Excited to bring some Duluth Pop-Down excitement to Askov Finlayson in Minneapolis.

We’re excited to be a part of a friendly Duluth caravan “popping down” to Askov Finlayson in Minneapolis on November 11th for an evening of books, beer, cocktails, music, monograms, and probably some bubble hockey in the big city. Our friends at Askov Finlayson are graciously opening the doors of their newly renovated flagship store in the historic North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis to share some to the great stuff being made up here in the North. The party runs 5-7 pm Wednesday Nov. 11th at Askov Finlayson – 204 North First Street Minneapolis, Minnesota 55401.

Bent Paddle Brewing Co. and Vikre Distillery will be there with refreshments, Duluth Mayor Don Ness will have his new book, “Hillsider”. Musician and author Teague Alexy will perform and sign copies of his book as well. It’s gonna be fun! The courtyard will be open so bring along a couple extra layers and enjoy some of Duluth, Minnesota’s best!

American Field

The Highway 61 Panniers from Frost River have a roll top closure, premium leather and brass post closure. Attached to a bike rack with leather straps and brass buckles, the inner stiffening plate keeps these adaptable haulers solidly attached to your bike.

AmericanField_mossThe second annual American Field gathering is September 28th & 29th in Boston’s South Side. The two day event runs from 10am to 6pm, is free and open to the public. It showcases American brands that sell their Made in USA products. When we were there last year there was a great, fun atmosphere with food, music, and a marvelous collection of products that are rarely available all in one place. “Ball & Buck”,  the sponsor of the event touts that “If every consumer spent just 5% more on USA made goods, it would create nearly 1,000,000 USA jobs and assist in the building of the US economy.” We will be there doing our part, working together to strengthen our American economy. Join us in the new revolution of American Manufacturing.

Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Day

Join us on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend for a celebration of canoeing in Spooner Wisconsin. The Canoe Heritage Museum works to preserve and restore wooden canoes. This is the third year of the Canoe and Wooden Boat Show held in conjunction with Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Day on Saturday May 25, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM outside of the Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Museum at312 N Front St in Spooner WI.

Bring your own wooden boat to display (it’s free!) or come over and check out other people’s canoes. It’s a free event and a great way to kick off paddling season in the north. There’s a beer garden, live music, the canoe shop will be open for tours, and the exhibit hall will have an open house.

We’ll be there with a load of Frost River stuff and will likely bring our new Stewart River Traveler solo canoe that was built by Alex Comb in the Frost River shop this winter.
