These chaps so far have been great. They fit well on the top button for me (I wear 34 long jeans). They are not to heavy either, and completely briar proof. I've only worn out 3 times while training my dog, but it was in very thick willow cover with a bunch of thistles. I didn't feel a single thistle poke. I was able to put them on over my size 10 boots fairly easily. They are loud though when you are walking. It sounds like you are wearing snow pants and rubbing your legs together with each step. Will make it a little harder to stalk weary roosters a bit harder late season, and anytime I use for dear hunting. (I live in Montana, most deer hunting is spot and stalk). Plenty of room to wear lots of warm layers underneath. I'm sure as they break in, some flaws will change, others will stay the same. Overall, they seem well built, and an investment to last a lifetime.
Hunting Chaps
Great chaps and I really like them, BUT they could use one more snap at the top (belt) for us really short guys- 5'5"-to keep them from dragging the ground. For now I put the bottom ankle snap on the middle and the middle on the top which leaves the bottom open, but that's where my boot is , so it's o.k. They are very durable and probably last forever. Just need 'em to shrink 1/2 inch.
Got the hunting chaps about 2 weeks ago and have worn them 5 or 6 times in the field. The performance is first class. The feel of the materials used exemplifies quality. The construction of the chaps is impeccably done. The Frost River folks know quality and it shows right down to the packaging. The only thing I wish is that they sent an additional sticker as I would proudly display it . Thank you Frost River
Have used two days in heavy brush( prickers, russian olive, mile a minute etc)
Breezed right through, no snags. Can't even tell by looks how much they went through.
I'd love to give another review in 6 months/ year for true durability.
