Scenario 1: You start your frosty morning bike commute wearing your fleece, wind shell, gloves and hat (Arrowhead Trail Rolltop cinched down to 18-inch height). But the day warms up, and on the way home you need to stow all that stuff plus more work from the office…Aargh! (Arrowhead Trail Rolltop expanded to 27-inch height…and you can still buckle the flap straps!). Scenario 2: (substitute “day hike in the Adirondacks”). Scenario 3: (substitute “trek to campus”)…You get the idea.
The simple adaptability of the Arrowhead Rolltop makes carrying a small bundle, or a large load, a breeze. If you’re only carrying a little bit, roll the top all the way down and cinch the leather straps to the bag. Need more space? Unroll the top. The long straps and extra height allow expanded capacity. Waxed canvas is water resistant, and when matched with a rolled top it is especially weather tight. There’s a loop for a blinking bike light, along with lash squares to tie stuff on… it’s a waxed canvas commuter pack that’s made in Duluth and really hauls!
The Arrowhead Trail Rolltop Pack is 12″ wide, the Arrowhead 15 expands the size with a wider 15″ pack body. Arrowhead Eco’s are available in either size and offer 2-in-1 side pockets that’ll snap closed and are perfect for water bottles. There’s a sleeve inside, and internal pockets on each side. They’re just the right length to handle narrow items but not so deep as to lose your stuff at the bottom. The Eco option is available for either the Arrowhead Rolltop or the Arrowhead 15.
The Arrowhead Trail Rolltop Packs are roll top waxed canvas commuter packs that are built to last and work for you … now with options! Made at Frost River in Duluth, Minnesota, U.S.A and are all Guaranteed for life.
Upgrade your straps! Enhance your pack with our premium buckskin padded shoulder straps. Cut from the same burly bridle leather and built with the same care, attention to detail and cushy closed-cell foam as in our canoe and bushcraft packs, this is an upgrade in both style and function. Please note that upgrading to the buckskin straps may require us to spend extra time building your pack. All of our buckskin comes from real, wild deer hides, so each one is a little different and may show scars & evidence of life lived in the wilds of North America. They’ll most definitely be worth the wait!

Canvas My State Buckskin Patches
You’re proud of where you’re from, so show it on your new Frost River Reliable Softgoods with one of our custom patches. You can read more about the Canvas My State program here, but the gist is this: when placing an order for certain Frost River gear, including the softgoods you’re looking at right now, you have the option of adding a deerhide buckskin patch. We’ve created iconic regional outlines, including all 50 United States, to choose from. Each patch is made and sewn right in our shop from locally-sourced, natural deerhide buckskin leather. The leather may have scars or other natural blemishes from being a deer in the wild, and it’s the same rugged buckskin that we use on our heavy duty mittens and canoe packs — it’s the good stuff. If we’ve got the bag in stock, we’ll sew your patch on within a couple business days, or if we’re out of stock and need to build your bag from scratch we’ll let you know it’ll take just a little longer. Canvas My State patches are now sold separately as well, for if you’ve got a trusty old bag you’d like to sew yer own onto.
Once you get your gear, share your patched pack by tagging it with #FrostRiver #CanvasMyState on social. We’ll share selected posts and give your regional pride a shoutout. Cheers!
WE JUST PLAIN GUARANTEE OUR STUFF.
We guarantee the hardware and workmanship on Frost River’s waxed canvas and leather packs, bags, and accessories forever. If we built it, we know the seams will stay strong, the zippers will work and the rivets and hardware will hold securely, and we take pride in building reliable softgoods at our shop in Duluth, Minnesota. We realize that stuff happens in life and rugged wilderness travel is tough on bags, and that if you use your gear hard, it will wear out eventually. That’s why it’s important to us that everything we make is highly repairable, usually worth repairing, and that we’ll be here to mend them with patches, straps, repairs, and fixes through a lifetime in the field — after all, the blemishes, scars, patches and stains in your pack each tell their own story, don’t they?
We stand behind all our craftsmanship and hardware. We guarantee the seams on your Frost River bag will stay sewn together, the rivets will hold, the zippers will work, and the buckles will do their job for as long as you (or your grandkids) have your bag. The lustre on the hardware will fade and patina, and the seams will age, but they’ll hold, and keep on working. If they don’t, and your product fails due to flaws in craftsmanship or hardware, we will repair or replace it at our discretion to get your gear back in service. Please send any warranty or repair products to us in clean condition. You can read more about caring for you Frost River gear in our frequently asked questions section.
What’s not covered?
Our warranty does not cover normal wear and tear on the canvas, leather, or straps. We use great materials, — the best we can find — they’re tough and will hold up to all sorts of use and abuse. However, we cannot guarantee cotton and leather to last forever. We can, and do, make repairs to canvas bags at a reasonable rate, both Frost River, and sometimes other brands. If you’d like to get more information, or request a quote on a repair job, contact us at email@example.com or call the shop (it can help to send a photo or two).
The Fine Print…
All warranty and repair work requires postage to be paid to and from the shop. We reserve the right to replace a Frost River item if we feel it cannot logically be repaired, and refuse service if your pack or bag comes to us in an unclean condition. If a replacement is issued, the original will not be returned. Damage due to excessive wear and tear, damage caused by an animal, abuse, misuse, neglect, an act of God or nature, and damage due to modifications are not covered by our warranty. Please get a hold of us by using the contact us tab if you have any questions.
Do I need proof of purchase?
The short answer, is no, you do not need a proof of purchase. We build all Frost River reliable softgoods ourselves and we put our signature on each and every piece. If your bag has that little Frost River tag, (called a taffeta) it’s covered by our warranty. We will gladly work with you to repair bags and gear sent without the taffeta, but they are not covered by our guarantee. If you have any questions, please get a hold of us by using the contact info here.
