Description

Use the Pack Baskets to help fill out and give structure to our Canoe Packs. Its lightweight nature is simple to carry and when paired with a canvas Frost River pack, the combination offers structure and support that could be just what you've been searching for.

The Large 20in Pack Basket great for hauling bulky items. Use it on its own, with the optional harness (made by hand by yours truly, with solid brass slides and durable cotton web), or it also works great inside one of our canoe packs. The Old No. 7, Timber Cruiser, or Grand Portage pack all will work with the Large Basket.

The Medium 18in version is the quintessential pack basket size.  The medium fits in the Woodsman or the Timber Cruiser Jr. The small brings the same structure to daypacks. Still able to be used on its own with the optional cotton web harness, the small Basket really shows its stuff when paired with the Nessmuk, Cliff Jacobson Signature Pack, or Vintage Pack.

Note: if pairing a basket with a pack, consider filing/sanding the corners of the bottom rails of the basket to reduce wear of the canvas. Our optional basket harness is made here in Duluth and sized to custom fit the different sizes.

A bit disappointed

I think I was most disappointed that it didn't come with a strap, and when I reached out and realized it was separate, I see I have an additional $12.54 for shipping a strap. Crazy price for shipping a strap. - Brenda

Almost perfect but it was so nice I bought it twice.

Construction is well made. Allows your pack to reliably sit up straight and more comfortable. I cannot attest to the longevity or durability of the product at this time.

My gripe is that the 18in basket does sit a couple inches above the top of the bag (Isle Royal Jr and Timber Cruiser Jr.) Which would probably allow for a point of water ingress. A 15-16 inch option would be a good alternative.

Pack basket

Very pleased. No issues. Good build quality. Suits our needs perfectly. (18th century Seven years war reenactors / Native Americans) most likely not our last from Frost River!
