Flight Bag

Rugged simplicity. If you want to keep the weight, cost, and fuss to a minimum check out the Flight Bags. Leather handles add reliability, a double layer of waxed canvas at the bottom resists abrasion, leather protects corners and adds class.

Add a leather embossed monogram to your luggage!

Four sizes in the Flight Bag line–the Mini is a little bigger than a bowling ball bag. The CarryOn makes a neat and trim weekend bag; it complies with airline requirements for onboard luggage. The Medium is slightly bigger but its compressible nature will allow you to get through most size checks. The Large Flight Bag really is large, it will stow a lot of gear.

All the Flight Bags include a web shoulder strap with solid brass hardware. The strap attachment points are leather reinforced and placed on opposing sides of the generous zip opening. The arrangement makes a balanced and shoulderable load.

    Carry-On Size

Posted by Paul on Jul 5th 2019

This bag doesn't disappoint. I would recommend it, and there are hardly any negatives. Make sure to get the buckskin padded strap for $35, it makes heavier loads easier to bear. If you're looking for packing cubes, I found that Eagle Creek's packing cubes work well, and with enough space for a pair of Birkenstock sandals, a pair of dress shoes, and a Pack-It Quick Trip (toiletry kit), I can fit 1 XS cube, 1 Small, 2 Mediums, and 1 Garment Folder. This works out to quite a bit of clothes. This American made bag is well worth it.

    Flight bag

I decided to order the flight bag-carry on size. All based on product reviews and description. There's nothing about this that was overstated. My comparisons have been with other wax canvas bags at some high end retailers. This has to be second to none. Incredibly heavy-duty canvas, zipper, & reinforcements. A traditional design (so much so, I had two people comment during my first and only travel trip), and something I view I can pass on to one of our kids. Unquestionably, this will last beyond a lifetime. Crazy to think a bag would do just that, but that's how I see it. Beautiful piece. I would recommend to anyone.

Excellent weekend bag!! Quite a bit of room I can easily pack 3-4 days. Couple this with my Voyageur pack and I’m good for 10 days. Well made as all Frost River products are

    Flight bag

I bought this bag probably 7-8 years ago, I honestly don't remember. It's been through rain, snow, sleet, sun, everything. At the time I bought it I think it was a little pricier than it is now, but my god has this thing stood the test of time. I love this bag. It goes on every flight with me, any time I am in a hotel for travel or business, or even if I am staying at a friends. This bag is worth every cent I paid for it. Strongly recommend it

    Flight Bag

Deserves even more stars. This bag is awesome. I received it almost three years ago (thank you Frost River for your support of the Blizzard Tour). Since then, it has been my everyday travel bag for work. It has been checked, not a carryon, on over 400 flights since then and has held up beautifully. A little dirty but that adds to the character. I used to replace bags every six months. I bought a ‘spare’ two years ago that I still haven’t used. Great product.

    Excellent bag

I came across this bag in Japan, and bought it in a heartbeat (Frost River goods are rare here, particularly at a bargain). It’s an odd size, somewhere between the “mini” and the “carry-on”, measuring at the seams, 12” high, 20” wide and 10” deep. Measurements aside, the amount the bag can hold accommodates most demands! My Summit Expedition Pack carries me through weekend trips, but this bag is perfect for longer travels away from home. The Flight Bag is a manifestation of what the folks at Frost River do best—making softgoods where rugged functionality meets a kind of quiet beauty—top to bottom, this bag looks as great as it holds. My favorite features are the handmade rolled-leather handles, and the timelessness of the waxed canvas. When packed with clothes, the bag makes a decent pillow too.

Very pleased with my large flight bag. Top notch quality and can hold anything and everything. Will definitely purchased another in a smaller size!

    Great & Durable Carryon

Posted by Scott Jones on Nov 8th 2018

When touring the store, I spotted the flight bag. I figured if it was good enough for James Bond (Daniel Craig), it would work for me! It wasn't long that I took my first trip to British Columbia and it turns out the carryon, along with the supplemental cord bags, was fantastic! I like having my Texas patch on it as well to rep my home state wherever I go!

    High Quality & Great Looks

Posted by Mick on Nov 5th 2018

After literally tearing through Athletic branded duffels (that were pricey), I looked hard for a longer lasting alternative. And there was the Flight Bag...perfect size, beautiful leather, waxed tin cloth - and American made!! I had to have one for weekends on Cape Cod. And the compliments keep coming...well done Frost River!!
