Book Pack & Simple Book Pack

(4 reviews) Write a Review

The high quality materials are durable and the bag will only get better with time. The Standard Book Pack is box style and has the capacity to hold many books, documents, or a laptop.

Built like a canoe pack but shrunk way down, The Book Packs offer heritage, utility, and function reduced to a miniature size. Just don't call them cute. They are tough, reliable, and secure-- but small. Popular in town as much as on the paths less traveled, there are no boundaries as to where you can deploy a Book Pack... It's a versatile pack design that will hold up to years of use and abuse. The standard Book Pack is a "box-style" pack where there is an extra panel between the front and back of the pack. It has a gusset. The Simple Book Pack is a traditional envelope style pack. There is no gusset. The front is sewn directly to the back of the pack. Small, trim and streamlined, you can almost forget you're wearing this pack with a small load.

Better than my old Boy Scout pack

Posted by Lee Pearcy on Feb 22nd 2022

I bought this to carry stuff on my bike. it's simple, comfortable, and roomy, and the build looks indestructible. It reminds me of the "haversack" (day pack) that I had when I was in Boy Scouts, about 60 years ago. That pack lasted for about 40 years of travel and hiking, and this one should see me out.

I bought this for my wife. She uses it for food shopping locally and for personal items on long canoe trips. She is delighted The materials and construction are excellent quality. Ask for a definitive review in about twenty years.

    Standard Book Pack

Posted by Clark Gilbert on Dec 29th 2020

After many months of searching for a smaller pack to carry my Everyday Carry (EDC) items, I end-up choosing the Standard Book Pack. At 9 liters in total volume and over-all weight of 2 pounds, this boxed style pack is a total work horse. The main compartment is easy to access as well as the hanging zippered pouch. All my EDCs and their friends, easily fits in the main compartment. The 2.5 inch cotton straps ensure a most comfortable carry. I like the grab handle for an easy grab and go situation. The Martexin waxed canvas flap over the main compartment and the internal rain flaps does an excellent job of keeping the Winter Seattle rains out and my EDC dry. This bag is complimented by fine details such as solid brass buckles and the leather is the same used in Red Wing Boots. This is a very welcomed purchase at a very fair price.

    Great day pack!

Posted by MTB on Oct 26th 2018

I bought this pack 4 years ago and have enjoyed it ever since. I love the simplicity of a standard canvas box style pack. I use it for hiking and hunting. Its big enough for a canteen/pot set, backpacking stove, some snacks or mountain house meals, warm hat/glooves, packable rain jacket, knife, box of ammo, and binoculars. If I had to complain about something it would be that this pack rides low on your back. Not a big deal, just something to think of if you are used to modern packs that ride high. Would gladly make this purchase again!
