Description

This is a daypack, meant to go light and fast or supplement another larger pack for a full camping rig. It serves well as a school or travel backpack, too. We build them by hand in Duluth, from a lighter weight 10.10 oz waxed canvas that we get from the same supplier as our heavier 18oz. It's a tighter weave fabric that wears tough, but carries light. You get the choice of Field Tan or Hunter Orange waxed canvas. We regularly build the Field Tan, but may have to build a Hunter Orange pack from the ground up if high visibility is on your list. The Cliff Jacobson backpack is lighter than, but similarly laid out to it's older "cousin" the Nessmuk Pack.

Excellence that is typical of Frost

Precision crafted quality you’d expect from the folks at Frost. The bag is superb in every way and perfect in its design. Carries well and checks every box. Buy without the slightest reservation. Top shelf piece of kit.

Clif Jacobson Pack

WOW! Craftmanship on this pack is wonderful, it is everything I hoped it would be and then some. My only problem with Frost River Packs is figuring out which one to buy.....I may need just one more?

cliff jacobson signature pack

Bought this for my daughter for a family trip to France, and for camping trip upcoming later in year. Excellent pack; sturdy, good size, worked great as a flight carry-on bag; outside pockets good size/very helpful.

Good … but

I’ve had this pack for a couple years now. The style, shape, storage everything is great. My only disappointment is the canvas it is made of. It’s too thin and flimsy. It has no body to it and for a small pack like this, using the regular thick canvas would make this 100 times better. If it was to be remade in thick canvas like my isle royale I would definitely buy another one.

Cliff Jacobson Backpack

I really love this pack. It's my second one. (I bought one around ten years ago, and gave it to a relative for her trip around the world.). Meanwhile I have been using my Sojourn pack; which I also love. Anyway, this pack is a lovely design (Thank you Nessmuk and Cliff) that is beautifully executed. I love my new one even more than my old one. Don't worry about the lighter fabric; this is plenty tough. The stitching is perfect throughout. It rides great. Hold a bit more than you probably think.
