Explorer Duffel Bag

(13 reviews) Write a Review

The carry-on Explorer Duffel by Frost River is made from 'field tan' colored waxed canvas. It comes with a shoulder strap and wide green cotton webbing.

Our most robust duffel bags, the Explorers are built to handle heavy loads. Tough, wide, web handles go around the circumference of the bag. There's a dust flap over the main zipper to protect the opening and keep contents dry. A roomy pocket on the side closes with a leather strap and brass post. There's a grab handle on one end and a low profile zip pocket on the other. Four sizes make up the Explorer line –the small is neat and trim for just the basics, sized like a gym bag. The CarryOn is a weekend bag that is compliant to bring on board commercial airlines. The Medium is bigger, a handy gear bag for the outdoors. The Large Explorer lives up to its name. It begins to approach the scale of a hockey bag. It can carry a LOT. All are built from waxed canvas, premium leather, and solid brass hardware at Frost River in Duluth Minnesota.

    Explorer Carryon Duffle

Top quality construction, made in the USA of USA materials. Great looking bag - quite large. Not sure it would pass as a carryon if fully loaded. The webs that go under the bottom of the bag provide additional support to the double layer bottom. This was my first purchase from Frost River - very impressed.

    Excellent Quality

This is an excellent quality bag. Obviously it is not the cheapest bag around but it makes up for it in quality. The only down side is as an introvert I get a lot of complements on the bag when I would rather just be left alone.

Just got my bag home and what a work of art! Form following function, indeed.I can't wait to bring this bag on adventures, whether it's as a carry-on, around the globe or getting snowed on on the way to the gym. Excellent quality and you can see and feel the pride. Also great updates to the order and everything worked great.

    Explorer Duffel Bag

I got this duffel a few weeks ago and have been working mostly on the road since that time and so have used it quite a bit. So far I have to give it an outstanding review because everything about it has exceeded my expectations. I can say that a lot of thought has gone into this duffel in terms of construction, materials, and design, and it shows. It's very well made and the size seems ideal for a week's worth of clothing and gear with a little extra room left over. I highly recommend it without reservations.

Carrying the Kitchen Sink in Style

Just had the Large Explorer bag delivered to my front door, in record time. This is my 2nd Frost River piece, the first being the Summit pack I purchased back in 2012. That bag has served as hiking and hunting pack, school bag and weekend bag flawlessly. I have a longer trip coming up and decided it was time for a addition. FR wasn't lying when they said this bag was BIG, but for a extra 20.00 over the medium, I couldn't pass it up. It is almost a size of my old Army issue duffle bag. That's a good thing. The quality of construction is what I would expect from FR; top notch. I have lots of business and hunting trips in my future, and this bag will carry pretty much anything, and look good in any environment.
