Itinerant Daypack

The Itinerant Daypack by Frost River is built with waxed canvas, premium leather, durable zipper, and webbed cotton.

“All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost. The old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by frost.”

- J.R.R. Tolkien (1892-1973)

If your ranging requires a trusty pack the Itinerant lives up to its name. Just because its field tan color is at home in a duck blind, doesn’t mean it can’t blend in with Ivy League décor. A wanderer doesn’t need to live in Middle Earth to appreciate durability. 18 oz waxed canvas is tough; it earned the name “Tin Cloth” and its protection holds up through the ages. A full-sized laptop slips neatly into the main compartment. The outside zippered compartment offers dividers, and the inside zip pocket is ready to protect electronics, tinder, or whatever treasures you need to keep high and dry. The design is modern, but the materials remain unchanged -- tough canvas, robust leather, and solid brass. Reliable packs made in the U.S.A. at Frost River.

The Premium Itinerant offers an internal padded sleeve at the back. Three slip pockets on the sleeve offer spots to stow small items. Leather from Red Wing, Minnesota adorns the front, wide web shoulder straps and a grab handle remain at the back.

Available in Heritage Black as well as Field Tan, the Itinerant lets you choose which environment to blend in with, and which you'd like to carry with you. In Heritage Black, it's professional, sleek and understated. Heritage Black features all the same high quality materials as Field Tan, leather from Red Wing, MN, waxed canvas and solid brass hardware. It's built right from the start in Duluth, MN. The 895-N Itinerant Pack is solid black, while the 795-80-N offers a contrast of color in the field tan internal padded sleeve. Both feature solid brass. Here's a pack you'll enjoy for decades to come.

    Amazing Build & Amazing Quality

Posted by Philip on Jun 23rd 2021

I looked for many weeks for a backpack that had waxed canvas and leather and was made in the USA. I was so happy to have found the Itinerant an added bonus, the leather closely matches my Redwing Rangers! This pack looks amazing and you can tell it is built to last. Love everything about it.

    Outstanding smaller pack

Posted by Doug Happel on May 19th 2019

I was looking for a smaller size pack for day trips and my standard Itinerant has not disappointed. Its 960 cubic inch capacity is just right for an overnight trip or a daylong adventure. I can carry a 20 oz. water bottle, binoculars, light jacket, and a couple packing bags with room to spare. Comfortable straps, buttery smooth zippers, a nice admin pocket and it just gets better looking the more you use it.

I’ve had this pack for about 4 years. It goes with me everywhere, whether it’s work, vacation or just a road trip. The quality is amazing and there’s enough room for all the essentials. Love it.
