Lookout Daggett Day Pack

A leather-clad Day Pack built with premium-styling and multi-use functionality in mind. This durable pack is small in stature, but big when it comes to catching eyes. Don’t be fooled by the minimalist design, this compact pack is feature-full. The all-leather lid is secured by a thick, bridle leather strap and thread into a solid brass buckle. There’s another spacious exterior leather pocket that allows for easy access to items even (be ready at an opportune picture’s notice and slide your phone in either side) when the pack is buckled shut.

Under the lid are two waxed canvas slip pockets to keep smaller items like field notes or snacks organized away from the peril of being sucked to the bottom of the pack. All of the goods packed into the Daggett Pack are sure to dry and secure. Under the leather top lid, excess waxed canvas covers the nylon zipper to keep all of the elements out. On the inside- a hanging zippered pocket and brass swivel hook help keep smaller contents toward the top of the bag. This pack can easily accommodate a 13in laptop.

Keeping up with all of the leather accoutrements, the Lookout Daggett Day Pack offers 1-1/2in bridle leather backstraps, that over time will break in to fit your frame perfectly and comfortably. Another premium feature of this new daypack are all of the brass rivets. This daypack works to show off some hand-pounded pride including a whopping 10 handpounds in the design. Another timeless pack handcrafted proudly in Duluth, Minnesota by Frost River.

History of the Pack Name, Meet Hallie M. Daggett

Daggett was the first female to be employed by the United States Forest Service.

She says, “I grew up with a fierce hatred of the devastating fires and welcomed the Forest Service force which arrived to combat them. But not until the lookout stations were installed did there come an opportunity to join what had up till then been a man’s fight.” Hallie Daggett became a lookout at Eddy’s Gulch Lookout Station atop the Klamath Peak in 1913.

Many of the men made predictions that Daggett would last only a few days as the lookout stood on a solitary mountain making it a 3 hours’ hard climb to just about anywhere—but Daggett happily and successfully maintained her post for 15 years.

    Simply a Beautiful EDC pack...

Posted by Mathew on May 18th 2021

A perfect EDC pack. The pack was originally designed as a woman's pack, but in my opinion, it should be advertised as a unisex pack for everyday use. The pack is compact, yet spacious enough to all everyday essentials (wallet, phone, charger, water bottle, light jacket, etc.) If the above describe what you are looking for in a EDC pack, look no further - because you have found it! Made in America and a True Heritage Product. Highly recommended.
