Terrific Lunch Bag with SB Posts

Posted by Steven on Nov 13th 2018

Bought two of these durable lunch bags but absolutely wanted the Sam Browne post closure strap. The post closure transforms the lunchbag into a true locking bag that will not open if tipped. Super lunchbag and a Super value!

    Perfect Lunch Bag

What a great product. Made here - perfect. Made with quality and care - yes. Love not adding another cheap product to the environment made in China - buy Frost River. Looking forward to adding more of their products to fulfill my needs.

    Yes, Yes and Yes

I wanted to write this review simply because this wonderful purchase almost didn't happen. Everything about the lunch tote is perfect the color, size and rugged look and secure snap on the top. However the specs threw me off just a little bit. The specs call for 3.5" D which didn't mean anything to me, simply because my biggest concern is if the bag was wide enough to fit a pyrex dish. Let it be known that each small pyrex dish is about 4.5 wide and this bag will carry 2-3 of them this size. If left overs are your concern then concern no longer and pick up this wonderful American made product. The only thing missing is a knife, fork and salt pepper shaker accessories. Hint Hint, wink wink Frost River. Thanks for a great product.

Useful & simple in the best sense

I use this no-nonsense lunch bag to carry a full set of specialty coffee accessories when traveling -- it holds a hand grinder, Aeropress, thermometer, small weighing scale, coffee beans, and a few other items. It's like an additional compartment in my carry-on bag that I can take out after arriving at a hotel room and protect my main bag from spills. It's been working great for me and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a no-nonsense compartment that is perfect for carrying a lunch or other items inside another bag.

    SB Lunch Bag

Posted by Tyler on Aug 30th 2017

I picked up the SB Lunch Bag a couple years ago and have been using it everyday since then. The size is perfect for carrying in my briefcase (made by Frost River) and I just put the whole thing in the fridge at work. I have spilled food all over the inside so many times but since it is made of waxed canvas, it just wipes away with a towel and some water. I chose the SB that way I can use the closure strap as a carrying handle for the times when my briefcase is full. I don't foresee myself needing a new lunch bag anytime soon and I plan on purchasing some more as gifts.

    Brown Bag Lunch

Posted by Messenger on Aug 30th 2017

I've been using the standard lunch bag for the past six months or so, and appreciate its simplicity. The strap itself doesn't secure, but it does generally keep the bag shut in my bag to and from work. I use the tail end coming out from the leather keeper as a handle, which works alright. The bag itself is great, no-nonsense, and takes up little space in my pack. I've used insulated lunch boxes and bags before and they always seem to make for a bulky, cumbersome way to carry a lunch. No puffy insulation means I can put more food into it, have it take up less space in my bag and when I put it in the fridge at work, the refrigeration there helps keep my food cool. Like it!

Well made, beautiful... poorly designed to the point of uselessness

Posted by David Hershey on Jul 28th 2017

I received the Frost River Lunch Bag as a birthday present and it is a beautifully made item. Brass tacks, leather straps, substantial waxed canvas so this is a lunch bag that should last for years. Unfortunately after a couple weeks of use I can firmly say it pretty much fails the job of being a lunch bag. As a prop in a pinterest shoot this is your 5 star bag. If you need your lunch bag to win the beauty contest that is the office fridge, consider yourself the “king of the break room”. However if you need to get your lunch from your kitchen table to the work fridge in anything more than 20 steps you are going to hate this thing immediately. The problem is there is no handle, strap or any way to hold the bag other than to roll down the top edge of the bag and hang on. Hanging on is made harder by the inch wide leather closure strap, which crosses over the middle of the roll top and is uncomfortable to try and grab onto leaving you to grab the sides of the roll top. Your experience may vary but I am back in the market for a lunch bag with only 11 months to go until my next birthday
