Pack Basket

(9 reviews) Write a Review

This item is available in three sizes and made in America. A carrying handle on top allows for easy transportation.

Made by hand in New England, our pack baskets are built the way they should be: durable and reliable. The Large 20" version is a big basket great for hauling bulky items. Use it on its own, with the optional harness (made by hand by yours truly, with solid brass slides and durable cotton web), or it also works great inside one of our canoe packs. The Old No. 7, Timber Cruiser, or Grand Portage pack all will work with the Large Basket. The Medium 18" version is the quintessential pack basket size. Its lightweight nature is simple to carry and when paired with a canvas Frost River pack, the combination offers structure and support that could be just what you've been searching for. The medium fits in the Woodsman or the Timber Cruiser Jr. The small brings the same structure to daypacks. Still able to be used on its own with the optional cotton web harness, the small Basket really shows its stuff when paired with the Nessmuk, Cliff Jacobson Signature Pack, or Vintage Pack. Note: if pairing a basket with a pack, consider filing/sanding the corners of the bottom rails of the basket to reduce wear of the canvas. Our optional basket harness is made here in Duluth and sized to custom fit the different sizes.

This basket is well made. I bought mine with the strap harness as well and got it for easy daytime packing with kids and ease of grabbing stuff out of it in the canoe. It looks awesome in the canoe, as well as at home in the living room before I pack it up for a day out on the water.

Just received mine with sparkles in my eyes. Fantastically beautiful masterpieces. Solid, rigid and a charm for the woods as well as for the eyes. I could watch this basket all day. Shipping was very quick as well. Thank you so much Frost River!

    Pack Basket

Recently purchased the large pack basket to be included in my woodland Santa costume. I was pleasantly surprised to find the webbing was very strong and adjustable even for my 6 foot 5 inch size. This basket will be able to carry very large packages with ease. Looking forward to smiling faces on children.

I am very please with the quality, size and versatility of this pack basket. It can be accessed easily while wearing it. Perfect for items I don't want smashed such as mushrooms. It fits inside the summit pack for even more versatility.

Waited for over four months for a pack basket from the other MN company offering this item. Frost River immediately confirmed product availability and I had my large pack basket within seven days of placing the order. It is a thing of beauty, and could be used in place of art; however, unlike the one my father used to carry to support his trapline in the late 40s/50’s, mine will be used to haul decoys and gear to my duck blind. It is fantastic to see the workmanship, the use of ash rather than maple, and the slight staining that are identical to the one my Dad carried and I so admired as a child. I almost forgot, it is incredibly strong and tough as nails! Thank you Frost River!!!
