Lugging computers, documents, and brochures is every mobile business person challenge. I've use backpacks and other briefcases, BUT the Pilot Brief from Frost River is the best solution I've found. Size is perfect as you can stuff it with two laptops, and portfolio with room for other supplies. When you need to trim down the load, it works nicely with just a few folders too. I was concerned about the buckles being problematic, but the quality is so excellent they easily open and close without any challenges. It's also nice to have the handle on top for getting in and out of my truck. I upgraded to the all leather strap and love the comfort and feel it has. I've been using it daily for six months and can see many years to come from this incredibly handcrafted U.S.A. Made product. I LOVE IT!!!

    Pilots Breif

I searched and searched and searched for a bag that could hold my computer and all of my work stuff. I found a few that I thought would work but up to $300 more. After serious thought, I decided on the Pilots Breif because of my other Frost River items that I own. They are all tuff as nails. I am very pleased with it! And it is made right here in the good ol U.S. of A! I also purchased the padded shoulder strap. Definitely worth it if you haul what this bag is capable of.

    Customer review

Purchased one of these 5 - 6 years ago when we were in Duluth. I love the style and have received many compliments from coworkers. Keep in mind its a little pricey but you will only buy the Pilot Brief ONE time unless you lose it. Mine is used for work PC, traveling carrying multiple PC's, tablets, phones, medicine, and reading materials - and it is in much the same condition as when it was purchased today. Just nicely broken in.... Great bag couldn't be happier with it.

    The Ultimate Work Bag.

Posted by Peter on Aug 5th 2017

After researching the Pilot Brief on your site, I felt it may be too large for my needs, not able to see the actual size in person. So, I order the Heritage Brief, but I soon found out it was not able to fit all my stuff! I promptly returned it and ordered the Pilot! I could not have been any happier. For someone who works in the NYC Transit environment, I needed a bag that was sturdy and reliable plus carry operational and regulatory manuals, basic safety equipment and a tablet! The Pilot is well appointed and makes lugging all my stuff to from work quite easy! Apart from the straps for the buckles, which seems a bit on the thin side, this bag is just about perfect!

    Pilot Brief

I'm a guy that has far too many briefcases since I'm always looking for the perfect combination of size, function, comfort and looks. I'm not sure the perfect one exists but the Pilot Brief is as close as I've found for my needs. I've looked closely at a number of brands that make similar canvas/leather style bags and I settled on Frost River. That says a lot since I work in the outdoor industry and get "industry deals" on about anything I want and I paid full retail for the Frost River! Luckily I went to the store when passing through Duluth on vacation and had the chance to go through all the styles with a fine tooth comb. I'm sure I drove the sales associate nuts with all of my questions and the mess I made of her display area with numerous styles all in a row on the floor. She was very knowledgeable, helpful and patient as I narrowed my options down.

Now that I have a few business trips under my belt with the Pilot Brief; I'm sure that I made the right decision. There's no doubt that I'm going to be packing this one around for years to come.
