Saganaga Travel Satchel

At the end of the Gunflint Trail in Northeast Minnesota lies the largest, deepest lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness — Saganaga. Popular for travel and fishing, the area is loaded with campsites and several species of fish. The shoulder bag that shares its name is loaded with features. Compartments that a traveler, no matter on land or water can appreciate. The inside zipped compartment is unique. It opens inside the back to a full length slip pocket that provides storage up and in the flap as well as down in the back. Made at Frost River in Duluth, these satchels are available in two sizes- Big and Little-- just like the lakes. Available in Heritage Black as well as Field Tan, the Big Saganaga lets you choose which environment to blend in with, and which you'd like to carry with you. In Heritage Black, it's professional, sleek and understated. Heritage Black features all the same high quality materials as Field Tan, leather from Red Wing, MN, waxed canvas and solid brass hardware. It's built right from the start in Duluth, MN in solid black and antiqued solid brass. Here's a messenger bag you'll enjoy for decades to come.

    Perfect for Everyday Carry

    Posted by C K on Jan 30th 2018

I was using a larger leather messenger bag for a few years but got tired of lugging it around. It got in the way and was a little cumbersome to maneuver through crowds so I bought this small travel satchel. It works great for carrying your everyday stuff and has a zipped compartment in the back. Waxed canvas has a rugged outdoors look instead of a murse. I accidentally spilled a bottle of water inside it and it held like a bucket. Nothing actually leaked out which I thought was impressive. The small is 8x10, the large is 11x15. I kinda wish they would make a 9x12 as that would give it a little more storage without being messenger size. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

    Great little bag

I like to travel light if possible so that means a backpack in general. But when traveling, it's useful to have a small satchel you can keep with you that can hold a book, tickets, water bottle, lunch, etc. Ordered the little saganaga and it arrived today. Very impressed with this little bag. Truly the small bag than can do it! The side pocket easily holds a substantial book. The zippered compartment is perfect for tickets, papers, etc. Then I got a fairly large stainless steel water bottle and it easily fit inside on it's side, with room to spare for food or whatever else is necessary. Looking forward to many years of use of this and I highly recommend it.
