Sawbill Trail Handlebar Bag

This handcrafted product is available in field tan and hunter orange.

Designed to strap to the bars of a bicycle, the Sawbill Trail Handlebar Bag can carry whatever small stuff you want to keep handy on a cruise. Waxed canvas construction with leather straps to secure to the bars—it's just big enough for the essentials without overburdening your handlebars. Built with a cylindrical shape, the Sawbill features canvas, double-layer ends for stiffness and durability, as well as a stiff bridle leather panel to protect the bag from rub against a fender. On each end is a riveted brass ring to use to help stabilize the Sawbill on a bumpy ride, or to use the bag a small shoulder satchel. Ships with short bike leather straps, built from the good stuff: leather from Red Wing, MN, and solid brass hardware like roller buckles and rivets. To help this candy bar bag keep the weather out, this one's built from waxed canvas, with an integrated rain flap to cover the heavy-duty coil zipper. Made by hand in Duluth, and built for bikes, but useful for all kinds of other places, too. Lash the Sawbill to the bottom of an Isle Royale Bushcraft Pack for a small zippered compartment. Toss the Sawbill inside, or on the side of a pack to have a versatile accessory bag for your small water bottle or pack of pencils. Simplicity equals versatility.

Totally impressed, quality bag holds more than you may expect. I posted a video on YouTube showing how much I could pack in this bag

    handle bar bag

bought to put on the top of my backpack ( also frost river) to get a little more room for inside of backpack. id gave it a 5 but straps are to short to go through both of the leather cut outs on the backpack so i went though one and it works fine just flops more than id like. If straps where a bit longer so it can go through both and hold it more secure. YES I know thats not the intent of this bag so I really should not complain, Its just a review of what im using it for. the bag is otherwise everything id expect from frost river

    It's Goldilocks sized!

Perfect size for my bike lock, extra snacks, and maybe a camera; plus my rolled up rain jacket. The only thing that would make it better would be a button hole (covered with a leather flap) on the back side so that I could feed the cable of my power bank out to recharge my bike computer.

    Sawbill handlebar bag

I’m loving just about everything, except for the zipper rattle. They are large which is nice but quite loud when riding. I solved the issue by adding shrink wrap, sticky velcro and a small zip tie on either side of the handles to stiffen them up and now they’re silent! A flat sleeve pocket on the inside would be a nice feature to add for a phone or other small items so they don’t bounce around in there if the bag isn’t stuffed. Overall I’m satisfied and recommend this bag to anyone!

Blends in good with the color of bike, well made, and looks and feels like it will last longer than me and bike!

    Sawbill Trail Handlebar Bag Review

Posted by Bruce Hajost on Nov 2nd 2020

This bag is awesome and fits perfectly between my new Janus Gryffin 250 Scramblers Handlebars! Also, it's the perfect size, not too big and not too small. I can fit my tools, wallet, cell phone in its holster and glasses in its case in this bag altogether with no problem!

This handlebar compact canvas bag is made so well and it lays so nice on my handlebars. I really like it. The quality is excellent.
