Great Northern Choppers are Amazing! Liners don’t fit Smalls..

Ok. Where to start… I have been on a quest for the warmest mittens since about forever. I have Raynaud’s Syndrome and can’t find mittens warm enough for my hands without using hand warmers each day when I go out for a walk. I live in the Adirondacks and walk/hike everyday. I go ice skating in Lake Placid a lot. I bought a size small - I’m 5’6”” 127lb for reference and I got the wool liners. The wool liners were way too big so I’m using an old pair of fleece mittens for liners until I can find something better. As is, I haven’t had freezing g hands yet. The coldest I’ve walked in them is 23 degrees Fahrenheit. But I didn’t need hand warmers and in my other mittens I would use hand warmers even if it was 35 out. My hands are cold for about the first mile of a walk and then get toasty and totally comfortable for the next 4 or 5 miles. They were great when I went ice skating. This is the happiest I’ve been about a warm pair of mittens in about 20 years. I’m glad I found them. I’m sure they will be even better once I find a better fitting pair of liners for them. Hopefully wool.

I never do reviews for products but other’s reviews really helped me decide to buy these so I hope mine can help someone else. This is for the Great Norther Choppers. Not the liners. The liners were a size large and didn’t even come close to fitting in the size small chopper so I won’t even ever use them. I gave them to one of my kids.

They fit

Yes, they fit my large hands. And they fit a bit tightly into my elk leather choppers bought years ago at Kaplan Brothers. Those were lined with Thinsulate which has partially worn out. We'll see how the Fox River liners do..
