Behind the Seams: The Machines
That Make It Happen

People have commented enough on quality so I will simply echo that everything is top notch. What I really appreciate about the design of this bag is the 2 compartments, which allows for separation of items but also makes it so the main compartment zips all the way down to the bottom, allowing for easy access of everything. I much prefer this design to a typical straight zip or D-zip duffel where I feel I am always digging around for items. The only downside I can think of with this design is the bag is more vertical so it doesn't quite hug your body/back when you strap it across your shoulder and chest. Can't have it all and to me that is a very minor trade off.
The size is perfect, I can get easily a week+ worth of clothes or pack light for a long weekend. The bag will fit in most overhead bins as long as it's not stuffed to the brim and even if it was, it would pass muster on most larger flights. You would likely struggle to get it into smaller commuter bins. On my first trip with it, I carried it on the first leg and checked it for the way home. Worked flawlessly.
Well done Frost River - maybe consider naming it something other than a 'boot bag' because I think it is far more versatile than that!
Used this on three trips so far and at least 5 people have asked me about it. It's larger than it appears and you are able to separate your clothing into types, have your shoes separate or some combination. I typically put underwear, socks, shorts and pants in the bottom compartment and then shirts, jackets, etc. in the top section. At the end of the trip, I've been able to put all of the unworn items in the bottom and the dirty up top to keep them separate. I've had as many as three pairs of shoes in the bottom compartment. Very versatile, very nice looking and I'm sure it'll last longer than I need it. I have several Frost River items and every one of them is superbly made, rugged and classic. You won't go wrong with this bag!
I took this bag to Alaska-it held plenty of gear and made it through the checked baggage perfectly. I liked it so well that I bought one for my son.
The prairie boot bag is a great bag. It has a specific look that I wanted, and the materials are all high quality. It’s become the only bag I need to carry, from trips to Colorado to Hawaii. I had an issue with some damage that occurred to my bag (my fault, NOT Frost River). Frost River repaired quickly and it is as good as new. Customer for life!
Perfect size for a weekend hunt. Quality is top notch similar to the Overland bag I purchased a few years back. A purchase you won't regret!
