Compression is the key to the Boulder Junction Pack. It’s a fairly tall pack that holds a lot and really benefits from the cinched sides that the brass rings and laced cord provide.

Description

We got valuable input from the adventurers at Camp Manito-wish in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin that helped transform our versatile Summit Pack into a capable and adaptable back pack that will work equally well with small, light loads, and big, heavy, high volume, loads. The zippered compartment at the bottom adds capacity and allows wet or dirty gear its own space. Twin zipper slides keep contents, like a rain jacket, ready at a moment’s notice. There’s a sleeve inside, at the back of the pack, able to handle a laptop, a water bladder, or whatever other flat stuff you want to put back there. The buckled pocket on the front aids organization and provides another spot to stash necessities. Waxed canvas keeps the weather out and will last for years. The padded backstraps provide comfort, and the brass ring attachment system supports the pack and provides independent movement between back and pack.

The Summit Boulder Jct. is made of waxed canvas with solid brass hardware, and great leather in Duluth, Minnesota, at Frost River. It’s built to last and aimed to please. Thanks to Walter and the great staff and campers of Camp Manito-wish!!! Upgrade your straps! Enhance your pack with our premium buckskin padded shoulder straps. Cut from the same burly bridle leather and built with the same care, attention to detail and cushy closed-cell foam as in our canoe and bushcraft packs, this is an upgrade in both style and function. Please note that upgrading to the buckskin straps may require us to spend extra time building your pack. All of our buckskin comes from real, wild deer hides, so each one is a little different and may show scars & evidence of life lived in the wilds of North America. They'll most definitely be worth the wait!

Vertical and nicely sized.

Vertical orientation is what I wanted and got, enhanced by bottom enclosures with separate zipper access. Its medium capacity disciples one not to
overload, something this age-75 guy must consider.

BEST BAG IVER EVER OWNED!!!

I got one of these guys for Christmas and wanted to wait a few months to get a feel for and test how durable it really is. I must say after a dozen hikes and using it daily for work, it’s the best bag I’ve ever owned ;). Super comfortable and the compartments perfectly fit everything I need for my trips, travels, trials and tribulations. The only thing I wish this bag had is a way to attach a bedroll or a waist belt. Otherwise I give it a perfect score for being a nifty bag that I hope to use for years to come.
