Vintage Pack No.821 by Frost River.

O. Henry says that "the true adventurer goes forth aimless and uncalculating to meet and greet unknown fate." This is a great pack to grab when you're heading out to meet & greet an unknown fate, but want to calculate just a bit of room for an aimless day's adventure or even a quick overnight. This is a traditional looking pack with adjustable padded shoulder straps and a double canvas bottom; leather straps let you aimlessly stick things on, over, under, and around this pack while you're hurrying to heed the call of the unknown. Vintage Pack detail: Yoke is self-adjusting for an exceptionally comfortable carry. Upgrade your straps! Enhance your pack with our premium buckskin padded shoulder straps. Cut from the same burly bridle leather and built with the same care, attention to detail and cushy closed-cell foam as in our canoe and bushcraft packs, this is an upgrade in both style and function. Please note that upgrading to the buckskin straps may require us to spend extra time building your pack. All of our buckskin comes from real, wild deer hides, so each one is a little different and may show scars & evidence of life lived in the wilds of North America. They'll most definitely be worth the wait!

    Vintage Pack w/Buckskin Straps

Posted by Jeff Z on Nov 17th 2018

I needed a waterproof way of carrying a 2.5’ square drawing board & large pads of paper into work everyday, along with most of my art supplies & regular daily necessities. This pack fits all those things with room to spare. I use it as a daypack for hiking too.
I live in NW Missouri & there is a lot of hunting here. I always attach a Wendigo signal bag to the top/back & I wish there were lash squares on top for this or a bed roll. Lash squares on the bottom would be sweet too. I
I recommend the buckskin leather straps, I don’t understand how they make it so soft but tough.

    Vintage Pack

I searched high and low for a good quality day pack. I found one with Frost River in the USA. Sadly, we dont seem to make this type of quality item in Australia anymore and i refuse to by asian knockoff products. Item took 8 days to deliver to my door in Australia, heck it would take me 30 hours alone to get to Minnesota. I will recommend Frost Rover every time someone comments on the on it....and i am certain that will happen. Regards JB

    Vintage pack w/Buckskin straps

Posted by Jeff Zuptich on Nov 14th 2018

I needed something big enough for my 2 1/2’ square drawing board and large pads of paper, a small pelican case (8”x8”x 5” ?), tool roll (frost river also) & assorted other pouches & necessities that I carry everyday to work. I do tattoos so I carry a lot of crap around cuz I never know what i’ll Be doing until I get to doing it.
This pack is perfect for me. I have taken it on plenty of day hikes too. I will surely be taking it on an overnight or two sometime soon, it is most assuredly large enough for my kit.
It also carries small loads, not necessarily comfortably but it will squish down without a bunch of flopping or with stuff falling out.
Like the fellow that wrote a review before me, I wish for lash tabs, too &/or bottom. I have found a way to lash my Wendigo Signal Bag to the top lid hanging down from the buckles. Lash tabs would make this much better/safer because the WSB would not flop over & obscure the blaze orange.
The buckskin straps are so very nice also.

    Great Retro Pack

Posted by Southern Mountain Hunter on Nov 11th 2018

Just got back from the first weekend of hunting wild boar using the Vintage pack. It has already proven to be a great day pack and has plenty of room for the gear I need for an enjoyable day in the back country.

The pack is very well made with fine workmanship and quality. If you are thinking about upgrading to the buckskin straps... DO IT, YOU WON'T REGRET IT! I was surprised at how comfortable the pack was during long, off trail hikes in rugged terrain. If I could add one thing it would be lashing squares on the bottom for a bedroom. You know, there may be time for a snooze on some day hikes... lol.

    Great product! Thanks Frost River.
